IAS files contain copies of the Goshen Daily News-Times, Feb. 1, Aug. 22, Aug. 23, and June 22, 1912, which discuss the donation and dedication of the fountain given to the city of Goshen by Mr. James Polezoes who was only twenty-four at the time. Mr. Polezoes, who immigrated to the U.S. from Greece in 1903 at the age of fifteen, had been a resident of Goshen since May 10, 1910 and wanted to show appreciation to the city and add to its beauty. He died in 1982. The fountain, which cost $1,000, came from the J. L. Mott Iron Works who ordered it from France. IAS files contain a copy of an article from the Paper, June 23, 1992, pg. 4, which discusses the donation of the fountain, and an article from the South Bend Tribune, July 22, 1984, which describes the repairs necessary at that time to put the fountain in working order again.
