    Remarks: 
    Roald Amundsen's boat the "Gjoa" was originally installed on this site. It was returned to Norway in the late 1970's. SOS! survey records the execution date as 1929; a 1993 survey from Helen Heitmann lists the date as ca. 1914-1920. IAS files contain an excerpt from The Arts Commission of San Francisco's "San Francisco Civic Art Collection: A Guided Tour to Publicly Owned Art of the City and County of San Francisco," San Francisco, CA: Arts Commission of San Francisco, 1989, pg. 72.
