Description:
Ars Boni (The Good of the State) pediment depicts a draped seated woman with a young boy seated to her right. Ars Aequi (The Rights of Man) pediment depicts semi-nude woman seated with a sword held in her left hand.

Remarks:
Existing composition was originally planned for use in the courtyard pediment over the Ceremonial Entrance; however, a relief of the eagle from the Department of Justice was placed at that entrance instead.
