    Description: 
    Each element of the work is a discrete unit. In the center and framed by undulating ribbons of steel are forms based on turned, wooden doorknobs, surmounted by a cut-out of a bird in profile.

    Remarks: 
    The Sculpture is a gift of the artist and is derived from a small wood sculpture Nevelson created in 1955. This work was temporarily located in Doris C. Freedman Plaza at the entrance to Central Park, before its relocation to its current site which was selected by the artist and the Department of Cultural Affairs. Bach and Cohen publication contains a photograph of the piece in its former location.
