Description:
This work is one of four sculptures installed on the North Terrace that illustrates the "inner energies" which shaped this country. The Poet, a writer who shapes our imaginations, is a standing male figure dressed in classical drapery. He holds a scroll of his writings to his chest with his proper left hand and his proper right hand rests at his side. Sculpture rests on square base.
