Description:
The mask of tragedy is a relief of a face over the east entrance on the north facade of the library. The mask of comedy is a relief of a face over the west entrance on the north facade of the library. The face of tragedy has a furrowed brow and an open mouth. The face of comedy has a open smiling mouth. Both faces have deep set eyes, long curly hair, beards, and moustaches.

Remarks:
At the time of the 1994 SOS! survey, the mask of tragedy was covered with a banner and a condition assessment could not be made. A photograph of the mask of tragedy appears in the Goode publication and a photograph of the mask of comedy appears in the Inventory image files.
