    Remarks:
Funded with a National Endowment for the Arts, Art in Public Places grant of $45,000 given in 1968 to the City of Seattle. According to James M. Rupp's "Art in Seattle's Public Places," one half of the cost was funded by the National Endowment for the Arts in 1968, and the remainder was given by Dr. Richard Fuller, cofounder of the Seattle Art Museum; however, the Seattle Arts Commission's "A Field Guide to Seattle's Public Art" states that the sculpture was a gift through the Seattle Foundation, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts. IAS files contain copies from Seattle Arts Commission, "A Field Guide to Seattle's Public Art," Seattle: Seattle Arts Commission, 1991, pg. 166; and Rupp, James M., "Art in Seattle's Public Places: An Illustrated Guide," Seattle: University of Washington Press, 1992, pg. 146-147.
