    Remarks: 
    Financed by the Belle Jacobs Memorial Association in memory of Belle Austin Jacobs (d. 1929), the co-warden and co-founder of the Wisconsin University Settlement in Milwaukee. Cost $5,600. A. C. Eschweiler designed the two story-telling benches in front of the figure. The bronze figure was stolen in the latter part of 1975; only the benches and base remain. IAS files contain additional bibliographic citations and photocopied image of sculpture model.
