    Remarks: 
    The design for the sculpture was selected by the Iowa Arts Council for the Police Memorial. The designer is an Ames, Iowa police officer and former landscape architecture student. The sculpture was commissioned by the State for approximately $18,000. IAS files contain related articles from the Des Moines Register, Dec. 17, 1982 and May 16, 1985 and the text of a nearby commemorative plaque.
