Description:
A large bronze urn sits in the middle of a round fountain basin. The surface of the urn is done in bas-relief with scenes depicting events of the wine culture in Napa Valley. On the lower third of the urn are scenes depicting the origin of winemaking; on the middle third of the urn are scenes depicting the history of Beringer's Winery; the top third of the urn depicts highlights from Napa Valley's wine history. One of the depictions shows Michael Moone, president of Beringer's Winery, looking over the shoulder of President Grover Cleveland. Another depicts singer Marvin Gaye with a cupped ear pressed against a grape vine while two raisins dance on his leg. Also depicted is pioneer grape planter George Yount.
