Description:
A life-size sculpture of a male silverback mountain gorilla made of cast-off rubber tire treads. There is an inner frame of welded steel bars. The tires are attached to the frame with copper wire.

Remarks:
Sculpture funded by the City of Albuquerque's Percent for Art program. IAS files contain copies of the artist's conceptual narrative, correspondence related to the commissioning of the sculpture, artist's drawings and installation instructions. The sculpture was vandalized and stolen around 1993. It was later recovered and repairs were minimal.
