Remarks:
The sculpture was funded by a one time grant from a private individual. It was the joint work of the school's art department and the industrial technology department. Birch served as artist-in-residence at the school. The sculpture was designed by Hawthorne, a student at the school.
Lange
and Johnson were teachers who oversaw the project. Colt and McDonald, from the companies of Hypertherm and Thermal Dynamic respectively, assisted with the cutting of the steel shapes. IAS files contain transcriptions of names from plaque listing the students who participated in the project. IAS files contain copies of related Oct. 29, 1987 press release; artist's drawings; and related article from Valley News (White River Junction, VT), Nov. 5, 1987.
