    A chain saw carving of a female figure representing Liberty. The figure stands dressed in a long brown robe and wears a pointed crown upon her head. She holds a lit torch in her upraised proper right hand and cradles a tablet in her proper left arm.

    Remarks: 
    The artist, a former Romanian sailor, "jumped ship" in New Orleans in 1988, and eventually moved to Gonzales. The tree that was used for the sculpture was damaged during Hurricane Andrew in 1992.
