    A large black onyx wheel representing a Norton Company product --the grinding wheel. It rests on a low rectangular block of granite.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was designed by Russell Hendrickson of the Norton Company's Materials Division. The wheel was cut and inscribed with tools made by the Norton Company. The inscription on a nearby plaque reads: NORTON COMPANY/DAY ONE, SECOND CENTURY/JUNE 8, 1985/TIME CAPSULE LOCATED UNDER THIS/PLAQUE TO BE OPENING IN FIVE DECADES/JUNE, 2035.
