H. 5 ft.; Base: approx. 15 ft. x 144 in. x 144 in. Inscription:  (Front of base, raised lettering:) TO OUR CONFEDERATE DEAD/1861 1865 (Rear of base:) ERECTED BY LLANO CO. CHAPTER U.D.C. 1915 unsigned Description:  A uniformed Confederate soldier stands at parade rest with both hands holding his rifle barrel, the butt of the rifle resting by his proper right foot. He has a moustache and wears a wide-brimmed hat, with a bedroll slung over his proper left shoulder and a canteen on his proper left waist. The soldier stands on a granite shaft with a square, graduated base, the bottom tier of which is concrete. The monument is set within a square planter with flagpole, and is lit by spotlights. It cost $1,200, which was funded through contributions. The soldier was created by James K. Finlay and his two sons, Jack and Jim, who may have used their father as a model for the soldier.
