Dimensions:  Boy: approx. H. 60 1/2 in. x W. 36 in.; Dog: approx. H. 12 in. x L. 19 in.; Base: approx. 25 x 32 1/2 x 89 in. (300 lbs.). Inscription:  (On bronze plaque on top of base:) EARLY MORNING DELIVERY/PUEBLO CHIEFTAIN/RENAISSANCE BRONZE/FOUNDEUR/JULY 1, 1993 unsigned Description:  A paper boy, accompanied by his puppy, is poised about to throw a newspaper which he holds in his raised proper right hand. The boy's proper left arm is holding the strap of a pouch which is slung across his body and rests on his proper left side. The words "Pueblo Chieftain" are printed on the side of the pouch. The boy wears a baseball cap and his proper left shoelace is untied. Slightly behind his proper left foot, a small cocker spaniel puppy trails along behind him. The sculpture is placed atop a rectangular base. Gus Romero and David McKean assisted the artist. James Robieson fabricated the base. Fifth-grader Matt Valdez was the sitter for the sculpture. The cocker spaniel puppy was fabricated as a tribute to a friend's dog, Rocky, that was killed by a car.
