Remarks:
This bust was in the collection of Henrietta Hill Hubbard from 1969-1985. It is one of two casts done by visiting Italian sculptor Rocchi. (The other bust is at the Lister Hill Library, University of
Alabama
at Birmingham.) Joseph Lister Hill was a member of the U.S. Congress from 1923-1938, and member of the U.S. Senate from 1938-1969. IAS files contain a related article from the Montgomery Advertiser/Journal, Nov. 18, 1992. IAS files also contain correspondence regarding improper cleaning of bust in 1979.
