    Description: 
    On the right side of the tablet, there is a relief of a female figure in profile holding a large medallion on her proper left side. The medallion has an eagle and a shield and the words PATRIOTISM and DEVOTION. The figure's proper right arm is outstretched and her head is lowered. The inscription appears on the left side of the tablet.

    Remarks: 
    The tablet desiged by Keck in 1913 was installed at the rear of the Maine Monument on the east side in 1936. The tablet was cast from metal recovered from the U.S.S. Maine in 1913. In 1936, the City of New York purchased the tablet with Works Progress Administration funds. The Maine Monument was restored in 1980 by the Department of Parks and Recreation.
