    Remarks:
This memorial to John B. Ford, father of the plate glass industry in the United States, was installed on the eightieth anniversary of his birth. The sculpture cost $4,000 and was shipped from Hartford, Connecticut. The sculpture was paid for by the three thousand employees of Pittsburgh Plate Glass, who each contributed one day's wage toward the sculpture's creation. Vandals knocked down the sculpture around 1979, severely damaging it. The sculpture was repaired by local artist Charles Hanna. Sculpture was cleaned around 1987.
