    Description: 
    The door consists of two half-doors with four panels each illustrating with important events in the life of Columbus. Tiny niches along the border of the door are filled with statuettes of figures who participated in the Columbus story. Above the door is a semicircular transom illustrating Columbus landing in the New World. Around the transom, a border is decorated with nautical motifs, such as, anchors and rudders; figures around the outer rim of the doors represent Asia, Africa, Europe, and America.
