    Remarks:
The original Wild Boar was reportedly done in marble by a Greek or Roman artist. A plaster mold was made by Renaissance sculptor Pietro Tacca. In 1857, Benelli working in Florence from Tacca's old, repaired plaster mold cast a bronze boar. Several casts of the 1857 boar have reportedly been made, including this in Lyndonville. The Lyndonville boar was a gift to the city from Luther B. Harris and then bank president of the Lyndonville National Bank. An amateur sculptor himself, Harris chiseled the foundation for the statue.
