    Description: 
    Samuel de Champlain standing on a rock, holding a spyglass in his proper right hand and a scroll in his proper left hand. Next to him, at his feet an unknown Indian, seated in a canoe points ahead with his proper right hand and holds a canoe paddle in his proper left. Two fish leap out of the water. Champlain wears a military uniform with sheathed sword, cloak with clasp, high collar, hat with blume, beard and mustache.
