LXI. signed Founder's mark appears. Description:  A full-length portrait of William Beatty, a former official of the Ohio Pythians. He is standing, dressed in a black three-piece suit with a maroon shirt and a white bow tie. A large equilateral triangle subdivided into four smaller equilateral triangles overlaps the inscription on the base. Subject:  Portrait male -- Beatty, William -- Full length Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- Ohio -- Springfield Sculpture Owner:  Ferncliff Cemetery, Ohio Pythian Lot, Springfield, Ohio Provenance:  Formerly located McCreight Avenue, Springfield, Ohio Formerly located K. W. Hess Ohio Pythian Home, 901 West High Street, Springfield, Ohio 45506 until Aug. 19, 2004. Remarks:  Erwin F. Frey was the Grand Keeper of Records and Seal for the Ohio Pythians for 31 years. Sculpture was originally located on McCreight Avenue, and was later moved to K. W. Hess Ohio Pythian Home for the aged run by the Knights of Pythias. When the property was to be sold, the sculpture was relocated to the Ferncliff Cemetery in Aug. 19, 2004. IAS image files show sculpture located at the K.W. Hess Ohio Pythian Home.
